22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2018 Newsletter

NEWS; September Newsletter Parents Feedback Evaluation Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback, we have collated all the feedback and did find some trends. We intend to change the following; Tapestry Information: It was felt that sometimes the information on Tapestry didn’t always match the information verbally. We will ensure in the future we use the daily sheets to give feedback rather than trying to rely on memory.

My Day At Nursery: We have made the decision to remove ‘my day at nursery’ from each of the rooms apart from Chicklets. Whilst we appreciate some parents value this written feedback we also consulted the staff team who feel it takes them a long time to complete away from children. Please be assured that you will still receive verbal feedback at the end of each day which will be provided to you from the daily sheets. We know you love seeing picture of your child each day. Therefore we will put on a daily post each day filled with pictures from your child’s room that day. Chicklets will still receive a ‘my day at nursery’ post due to them being the youngest children. We will also introduce a selection of photos from the day for Cygnets as some parents now feel that they miss the photos since we removed ‘my day at nursery’ from Cygnets room.

Equipment in Chicklets: It was noted that the equipment in Chicklets is great for the children under the age of 1 however was perhaps not as suitable as the children are much older within the Chicklets room at the moment. We have decided to invest in a climbing frame in the Chicklets room which will provide some much needed equipment for Physical Development as the children are older. Many older Chicklets will be moving next week and therefore will love to explore their new surroundings in Ducklings.

Car Park: There were a few comments about the Car Park being very busy at Peak times and the potential suggestion of a traffic island outside of nursery to help crossing a busy road. We are looking into who we would contact from Leeds City Council with regards to a traffic island however we don’t think that it would be something possible due to the volume of speed of the traffic on Street Lane. We will of course however try our best. Could we please ask all of our families to take care when using the car park in a morning and evening and be considerate to other families and use only one space. Whilst we would love to have more car park space (and potentially a one way system) we just don’t think such a significant change would be possible.

Information about upcoming events: We always try to communicate up and coming events through our monthly newsletters. We also regularly post on tapestry with events such as Mother’s Day & Grandparents days. We try to share a list of upcoming events at the home visit and these are also available outside the rooms.
