22 Street Lane Nursery - September 2018 Newsletter

NEWS; September Newsletter Information about the Early Years Curriculum: We are looking at creating a Parent portal which would have guidance for parents about what we do including our policies and procedures. We will also try to offer ideas about how you can extend activities at home through tapestry post which will include pictures of the day. We appreciate that some parents may want to follow on activities at home and some parents may not and this is entirely your choice.

Nappies/Wipes: We believe we are using one of the leading brands in nappies. Not only are Mamia nappies more cost effective than other brands, they also won the Mother and Baby award in 2017 for the best disposable nappies. If you wish for your child to wear a different brand of nappy, you are welcome to provide them.

Quorn: We have reconsidered our use of Quorn. We agree that the product is highly processed and therefore will be taken off the menu. We will still of course offer a vegetarian alternative however we will not be replacing meat with Quorn products. We are currently reviewing our menu and will share this with you as soon as it is ready.

Winter Menu: Thank you for feedback on winter menu, we will share the new menu over the next few weeks and the menu will be launched in October.

Parent Reminders; IMPORTANT Please can we remind parents that the nursery does not open until 7:30am. The staff start at 7am so that they can ensure that the room is set up and risk assessed for the children. Please could we ask you to wait until 7:30am so that the rooms are fully prepared. Thank you for your understanding.

We would also like to remind all parents to ensure that their children’s uniform is labelled. All clothing should have your child’s name in it. Whilst we take great care to ensure clothing goes in children’s bag it can difficult to keep track sometimes, especially when they look the same. Please can we politely ask that children not to bring toys from home unless it is a comforter. It can be difficult when children are bringing their own toys from nursery and they do sometimes get broken. We are going to create a library for children to borrow books. Could we ask kindly ask for any unwanted books which you may have at home which your child no longer reads.
