Standard Method Performance Requirements Ascorbyl palmitate

Used as an antioxidant in oils, max. Chinese regulation 0.05 g/kg fat

Can be used as a source of vitamin C (1 mg ascorbyl palmitate = 0.425 mg ascorbic acid)

Maximum in formula (3% fat):

50 mg/kg fat * 3 g fat/100 mL = 0.15 mg ascorbyl palmitate/100 mL

Contribution to vitamin C activity = 0.15 * 0.425 = 0.06 mg/100 mL
