Brian Fogarty, Associate AD for Athletic Development Brian Fogarty enters his ninth year in USD athletics administration where he is Associate Director of Athletics for Development. He took over this post after spending thirteen years as USD's head football coach. He directed USD's football

he is the department liaison to USD's Financial Aid, Budget & Treasury, Bursar, Campus Card, Computer Services, Housing, Dining Services and Bookstore. Additionally, Yourg is the Athletic Department contact for NCAA directed annual audits, coordinates the USD Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report, and the NCAA Student Athlete Opportunity Fund. He has volunteered himself in the San Diego community serving as Chairman of The Board of Directors for Wayback Inc., of San Diego, a recovery home for alcoholic men. Yourg received his Bachelor's (Sociology, 1980) and Master's (Social Work, 1986) degrees from the University of Wisconsin, where he was a nose guard on the Badgers' football team. He played four years and was a letter-winner. Dan and his wife Virginia, a USD alumnus, are the parents of three sons, John, Thomas and Michael.

His primary responsibilities are with fund raising, over– seeing the Torero Athletic Association (TAA), and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. He co-directed the capital campaign for the Jenny Craig Pavilion, which opened its doors in October of 2000. Brian and his wife Denise, recently married this past summer, reside in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego. Brian has four children: Bridget (a USD graduate), Joe, Colleen (a senior at USD), and Megan. to Associate Athletics Director for Com– pliance and Administration in the Fall of 2003, is in his fifth season as USD's Compliance Coordinator, and sixth year with the USD staff. He started his USD career as the department's Academic Support Coordinator. Prior to USD, he spent three years as the Academic Counselor at USC where he worked with the football , baseball , women's soccer, swimming and volleyball programs. Prior to USC, Mike served as the Academic Advisor for all 18 intercol– legiate programs at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for two years. He earned both his B.S. degree in Physical Education (1993) and M.A. in Education, Counseling (1994) from Cal Poly. He was also a starting pitcher for the Mustangs baseball team that finished 2 nd in the Division II College World Series. Mike and his wife, Kelly, reside in Lacosta with their two children, Abigail and Cole. Athletics for Media Relations, is in his 24th year. He oversees all public relations activi– ties, publications, website and information services for the department, in addition to hosting the media at USD events. In 1981Ted received his Master ofScience degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. A1979 graduate of San Jose State University, he earned his Bachelor's de– gree in Business Administration. In addition to his SID duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); a member of USD's Athletic Hall of Fame Committee; and teaches a bowling class through the USD recreation department. Ted and his wife Terri, a 1983 USD graduate, reside in Poway with their four daughters: Katie (17), Colleen (15), Claire (12) and Erin (8). Mike Matoso, Assoc. John Martin, Associate AD for Facilities & Operations John Martin has been a member of the USD athletic staff since 1975. He was the school's first head women's volleyball coach, a post he held through the 1989 season, and also oversaw the Recreation Department. As volleyball coach, he directed theToreros to three postseason appear–

ances, including a 4th place finish at the 1976 AIAW Nationals. As Associate AD for Facilities & Operations, Martin oversees all the scheduling, field maintenance and purchasing. He was the department's key liason during the construction of the Jenny Craig Pavilion which opened in October, 2000. A graduate of San Diego State (B.A. & M.A. in History), John resides in Encinitas with his wife Jane. They have two children: Eliza, a 2001 graduate of USD, and son, Patrick, a junior at USD. In 2003 John was recognized as one of two Student Affairs Employees of the Year.

Carolyn Greer, A.T., C. Associate AD for Sports Medicine Carolyn Greer enters her twenty-seventh

year as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department. Last year she was promoted to the position of Associ– ate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine. She is assisted by Suzi Higgins, Paul Signorelli, Wil Filamor and Penny Goldberg. A 1975 graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor ofArts degree in Physical Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's in Sports Medicine in 1978. Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and had numerous articles published in a variety of journals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and 400 USD student-athletes on a yearly basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for USD's intercollegiate athletes. Carolyn, and her husband Jeff, reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, David (freshman at USD) and Jason.
