Differences among subspecies

• F. tularensis subsp.  tularensis (Type A): Common with high  diversity – found naturally only  in North America • F. tularensis subsp. holarctica (Type B): Common with low  diversity – found naturally  throughout the northern  hemisphere • F. tularensis subsp.  mediasiatica : Rare and  reported only occasionally  from Central Asia
