Ask for Explanation The reasons for tardiness can range far and wide, but the employee deserves the chance to explain their behavior. This keeps the meeting from being too accusatorial and gives the stage to the employee to work through behaviors or patterns that have led to this point. help reset their mindset. Employees might put more of an emphasis on work performance or customer reactions and not see their lapses in time as a behavior that affects the whole business. Changing home behaviors, such as anticipating delays like traffic or missed trains before they become an issue, can be helpful.
