SCIENCE CLUB

The first meeting of the Science Club was highlighted by discussion of the work in the California Heart Associa– tion Summer Research Program. An Oc– tober meeting was devoted to a panel discussion concerning the chemical struc– tural pattern of heredity. A notable Janu– ary gathering listened to Mother P. Shaffer give a description of the ulti– filtration of sodium dodecylsulfate and subsequently saw a spectophometric analysis to prove the postulate that ad– ditives are absorbed by the aggregations of ionic detergents. Throughout the year speakers from the various classes furnished talks on many fields of interest. The annual low– tide expedition to Bird Rock provided both diversion and data.
