Tube cooling after heat treatment PROVEA is currently working on new systems for tube cooling after on-line bright annealing/heat treatment. This mainly concerns welded tubes and online systems. The tube range can vary between 12 and 160mm OD, and these operations are generally realised under a controlled hydrogen atmosphere. Successive cooling elements are installed for a progressive temperature decrease. Double-skin design enables cooled water recirculation. Each element is individually managed (individual water regulation for each elements) so that the temperature curve can be adapted (quicker temperature decrease vs more progressive curve). Gas management is an important part of the technological solution being developed: inert gas and hydrogen levels are closely controlled. Inside the elements, hot tubes are guided by graphite rings. Conveyors are also considered in specific cases, such as a very long cooling tunnel. Tube movement is managed by an upstream pusher and a downstream puller. At the end of the closed cooling elements, the tube is ‘showered’ to reach a normal temperature. The complete water recirculation system is also part of the solution. This includes primary circuit (chiller and air/water system), secondary circuit (directly connected to the cooling system), and the interface between the two circuits (exchanger, pumps, automatic water level and filtering units). Provea also recently changed its company structure, in order to fulfil the current industrial project. Anthony Cherabieh, business engineer, has taken lead of the company, and will manage the entire structure, after three years working for Provea. His experience in the tube industry has been key in the decision making process. Zakaria Benali, recently graduated in international business, will take Mr Cherabieh’s previous position as business engineer. Mr Benali will be in charge of new projects and more generally of the commercial tasks of the company. Cold roll forming SEN Fung was established in 1963 as a manufacturer of cold roll forming machines. The company has more than 50 years of professional expertise and continuous efforts in research, development and product improvement. The company is a major supplier and exporter of such equipment in Taiwan. It manufactures various metal sheet cold roll forming machines for producing products such as carbon steel pipe, stainless steel pipe, light gauge steel, door frames, roofing corrugated sheet, roofing tiles, wall panels, ceiling T-bars, steel deck, partition beams, and other metal sheet building materials.
