E very second year the Euroluce lighting fair takes place in Milan, Italy in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile Design week. This year, the Milan Design Week was held from the 9 th to the 14 th of April at the Fiera Milano showgrounds. Spazio Lighting was lucky enough to be able to attend the event, came back in awe of the beauti- ful lighting and furniture items launched at the fair, but also inspired by the latest trends and technologies that were on display. One of the lighting ranges that really stood out was the stunning new collection launched by Foscarini. The combination of aesthetically beautiful pendants and floor lamps were combined with state-of-the- art technology that offers the user complete customisation in terms of dimming and colour temperature, all controlled by a user friendly mobile app. Nemo Lighting also had some very interesting new lighting solu- tions on display, but the Bird by Bernhard Osann really stood out. Brokis truly overwhelmed visitors with its beautifully unique pen- dants and floor lamps that are all displayed in clusters. Their IVY range of pendants designed by Lucie Koldova stole the show with their clus- ters of intricate glass orbs made up of hand-blown glass. Their light fittings are not only a source of light, but true artistry. Luceplan also introduced a groundbreaking new concept of interior pendants that double as sound absorbers. This will be very popular in the hospitality industry in years to come. Used in restaurants it will drastically reduce the amount of noise one is exposed to if the fittings are installed in the correct locations and in the correct sequence. What surprised Spazio Lighting the most, however, was the Illan pendant by up-and-coming designer Zsu-

The fitting can be placed freely on the edge of a surface, it will oscillate and move but
