WHAT TO BRING

Quick facts

n Sun hats and sun lotion, as well as waterproofs and umbrellas. The British weather is very unpredictable. n Wear sensible footwear – you’ve got 150 acres to get around. There are surfaced roads as well as grassy areas which may be damp. n Re-usable bags for your purchases. n Picnic essentials, although there will be plenty of ‘street food’ offerings around the showground; from fish and chips to baguettes to baked potatoes. n Baby changing and feeding facilities, including high chairs, bottle warmers and a comfortable place to sit while feeding are available at the National Childbirth Trust on Avenue C. n Buy a show guide on the day, packed with maps, schedules, By car from the A34 from the north and south, the M4 east and west, exiting at Junction 13, or by the B4009 locally. There is an extended slip road up towards Chieveley just before joining the A34 heading to Oxford. A regular bus service will operate from Thatcham and Newbury to the showground. There are trains from Oxford, Southampton and Bristol running to Reading, with a change to Newbury. Limited disabled parking spaces are available close to the showground for blue badge holders. Please be aware that some are free, but some you have to pay for.

The Royal County of Berkshire Show is one of a series of events staged by Newbury & District Agricultural Society, a charitable organisation whose key mission is to engage children in the countryside and to boost their appreciation of the vital role of the British farming industry in food, stewardship of the countryside and everyday life.
