The Department of Community Program’s Acute Psychiatric Unit is a licensed specialty psychiatric hospital, providing 24 hour structured inpatient treatment within a locked setting. Presenting problems include such things as acute and severe/persistent mental illnesses, organic brain syndrome, detoxification from alcohol/drugs, acute situational/emotional distress, suicide threats/attempts and medication adjustments. Both voluntary and involuntary admissions occur. Serves primarily adults, ages 18 and above. Minors may be admitted on a short term emergency basis for evaluation. Admissions 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Programs: 13-bed secured unit for children ages 6 – 18, for mood, anxiety and thought disorders, eating disorders, alcohol and other drug addictions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other disruptive behaviors, as well as grief and past abuse issues. Each child receives a treatment plan based on individual needs. Affinity Health System offers the only inpatient program in the Fox Cities or Oshkosh with board-certified specialists for children. Day Treatment also offered.

Youth Inpatient Services Unit (YSU) is a 34-bed, gender specific, assessment/treatment unit for children and adolescents. Treatment is available for all needs, including psychiatric, behavioral, developmental disabilities, and the Anchorage Program for patients dually diagnosed with significant mental health and substance abuse issues. Short and long term treatment is available with a focus on community reintegration.
