UK manufacturer Ellis has received a substantial order for its oneholealuminum cable clamps, Vari-cleats and Vulcan+ cable cleats for use on the Sydney rail network, currently undergoing a significant upgrade. Ellis’s cleats will secure three 300mm 2 33kV cables installed in a rail tunnel that runs from the Argyle substation, at the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to the new Art Gallery substation on the east side of the city’s Botantic Gardens. The upgrade of this 3km stretch of tunnel is due for completion in late 2013. Ellis secured the specification through its Australian distributor, Sydney-based IPD Industrial Products.
