Cortinovis has incorporated the Sictra drawing division, integrating a range of products for cable processing from copper or aluminum rod, to cable production, laying-up and armoring. Sictra specializes in the design and manufacture of a wide range of wire drawing machinery for non-ferrous wires such as copper, aluminum and alloys. Danish recycling equipment Eldan Recycling A/S has delivered a cable recycling plant to the municipality of Faaborg-Midtfyn in Denmark. The firstmachine, aMicroModule, was installed at the beginning of 2012 and was run at full production throughout the year. In November 2012 the second machine, a Rasper R400-3, was delivered and successfully integrated with the Micro Module. Eldan Recycling’s machines have a modular design to enable a number of different combinations. “The modular approach is one of our trademarks. It gives our customers possibility to gradually grow their business as we see at the municipality of Faaborg-Midtfyn. The Rasper R400-3 will increase capacity and make it possible to process larger cables,” said Mr Flemming Hansen, product manager at Eldan Recycling. The Faaborg-Midtfyn plant processes dry cables collected from building and restoration projects within the municipality, and the output material is sold to metal traders.
