Positive Pay

Overview

Positive Pay is a fraud prevention system offered by ACNB Bank and accessed through the Business Online Banking system. Details of checks issued are sent to the bank via a file upload each time a check run is processed. As checks are presented at the bank for clearing, specific details of the check are verified for accuracy prior to cashing.

Positive Pay can be used to detect: • duplicate items • counterfeit items • altered checks • fraudulent ACH items.

Any checks with information that does not match are labeled as “exceptions” and are presented for customer approval each morning via the Business Online Banking system.
