How has Brian Allgeier’s previous involvement with Spyro helped with creating the R&C series? Many Insomniacs worked on both the Spyro series and the Ratchet & Clank series. After Spyro, we were dying to make a game with a hero that had opposable thumbs! Spyro couldn’t hold anything, which could be limiting at times - we were itching to make a game with planet hopping and big sci-fi weapons.

Either way works. They’re designed to complement each other. They tell the same origin story, with same major beats and characters. There is one big difference: the game is narrated from Captain Qwark’s less- than-reliable point of view. He gets the big events right, but his commentary is highly suspect! Why do you think it has it taken so long for Ratchet and Clank to make their debut on Sony’s latest console? Wait - has it really been that long? It

seems like the PlayStation 4 launched only yesterday. Anyway, we’ve spent a lot of time getting all of the details just right - visuals, audio, controls, everything. We never want to rush our work, and it’s nice to come out in step with the film. Will Ratchet and Clank for PS4 see the return of the RYNO? I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of this top-secret weapon! You’ll have to ask Slim Cognito—if you can find him. Does Ratchet’s ship play a bigger role in this entry than before? Yes! We’ve added several space combat sequences that weren’t part of the original game. And Ratchet trades in his entry-model ship for a state-of-the- art fighter when he becomes a Galactic Ranger. Is Clank going to have more of a prominent part to play in this game? He’s as central as always; the game tells Clank’s origin story, too. He spends part of his time on Ratchet’s back, part of his time solving cerebral puzzles, and all of his time being a true friend - the analytical counter to Ratchet’s impulsiveness.

Would you recommend seeing the movie or playing the game first?
