Shannon Turley Dir. ofAthletic Performance Training Shannon Turley enters his second sea– son as the Toreros' Director of Athletic Performance Training. Prior to leading the program at USO Turley has contrib– uted to the development of the strength and conditioning programs first at Vir– ginia Tech as a student assistant, then as an intern with the Kansas City Royals AA affilliate Witchita Wranglers, before servinig at the University of Missouri as both a graduate assistant and assistant director for the previous five years. Turley holds a B.S. in the Science of Human Nutrition, Food and Exercise with a Minor in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, a M.Ed. in Educational and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Sports Psychology from the University of Missouri in addition to certifications by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, Na– tional Strength and Conditioning Association , and International Society of Sports Nutrition. Kathy Marpe is in her first full-time season as the department's Game Operations Manager. She will be responsible for all game-day operations, including supervision of security, park– ing , visiting teams, game-day staffing , scheduling of officials,and assisting JCP staff with ticketing responsibilities. Last year Kathy worked as a part-time event manager at many USO athletic events. No stranger to the USO Athletic Family, Kathy was the Torero head women's basketball coach for25 years until she retired from coaching in the spring of 2005. A two-time WCC Coach of the Year, Marpe won two West Coast Conference tournament titles (1993,2000) with the team advancing to the NCAA's both seasons. She totaled 294 USO victories and 381 career collegiate wins. Kathy Marpe Game Operations Manager

Josh Lawrence Director ofJenny Craig Pavilion Josh Lawrence begins his fourth year as the Director of the Jenny Craig Pavilion. He came to USD after? years at UC San Diego,where his responsibilities included managing the RIMAC Arena. Josh's duties included coordinating all events, from athletic competition to the presentation of concerts and special events,as well as maintenance through–

out the Sports Facilities at UC San Diego.

Here at USD, Josh's responsibilities will include scheduling , staffing and all management aspects of the Jenny Craig Pavilion. In this capacity he will manage the daily operations of the facility, including event management and marketing of the Pavilion. Josh received his B.S.from UC San Diego in 1993 with adouble major in Political Science and U.S. History. Josh and his wife, Lisa, reside in San Diego. Branda Cook Asst. Dir. ofJenny Craig Pavilion Branda Cook joined the University

of San Diego as the Assistant Director of the Jenny Craig Pavilion in May 2006. She works in coordination with the Director of the Pavil– ion to ensure smooth facilityoperation with a focus on student employee management and liaison to other USO departments and ven– dors. Branda began her employment at

the Universityof San Diego in2002 as the Assistant Director of Operations for the Ernest Hahn UniversityCenter. She was responsible for the day-to-dayoperation of the facility ensuring a clean, fun and safe environment while motivating, men– toring and managing student staff that worked in the Center. Prior to USO, she taught Life Science and Physical Science at the Community Learning Center for Mira Costa Community College for six years. Sarabeth Pollock Coor. ofAthletic Academic Support Sarabeth Pollock begins her second year as the Coordinator of Athletic Academic Support for USO. She has worked as a tutor in the Athletic Depart– ment since the fall of 2001. She serves as the academic advisor for all sports except Football and Rowing. Her re– sponsibilities include the supervision of the Study Hall and the administration of the tutoring and mentoring programs.

Currently, the Academic Support Program employs over 25 tutors who represent a variety of majors across campus, as well as over 12 men– tors who are graduate students pursuing their masters degrees in USD's Counseling Program. Sarabeth graduated from USO in 2002 in the Honors Program, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. She speaks Spanish and French fluently. A5th generation San Diegan , she resides in Point Loma with her family. In her spare time, Sarabeth enjoys working on her novel that she hopes to have published by the end of the year.

Fortney earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with a inor in Leadership, from USD in 2002. She was a four-year member of he USD women's basketball team between 1998-2002, including the 2000 quad that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
