a club “especially if you are a visitor”. If you already are a club member, encourage all your riding associates to also join. Yes, the few dol- lars add to the cost of the sport but it is a huge benefit to the clubs who must negotiate for your riding privileges and pay bills. With our 42 mile long Moosehead Lake, a great run exists to the northern trails. How- ever, early season conditions create minimal ice thickness disguised under an insulating layer of snow. This is the most dangerous time of the year for venturing out without knowing the ice on the entire waterway. Some routes will have stakes installed when the ice is of sufficient thickness. Most areas are simply, “rider beware”. It’s a lot of enjoyment but also a lot of responsibility. Take precautions and don’t ride alone. Bob Ludwig, Secretary raludwig184@gmail.com As I type this, several of our volunteers are out on the trails working to get things cleaned up for the upcoming season! There’s a brisk fall breeze in the air, which is a defi- nite reminder of the cold to come, hopefully accompanied by lots of white gold! All the rain at the end of summer and so far this fal,l has made things pretty swampy on our trails, but we are doing the best we can to get things trimmed and cleaned up in preparation for the upcoming riding season. We are hoping to have crews out every weekend from here on out, as weather permits, in order to make sure the trails are as close to 100% as possible. Feel free to reach out to us on Facebook or drop us a line at paulbunyanscbangor@hotmail. com for details on when and where we will be working as we’d love to include anyone who is interested in helping out! We’d also like to recognize some of our business members throughout the season, starting with Hammond Street Citgo right here in Bangor! They’ve been a longstanding member of the club and are very much valued and appreciated by all of us! That being said, if you’re in need of fuel, and in the area, please try to support Hammond Street Citgo as they have been a great support to us! We generally hold our meetings on the second Wednesday of each month during the season, and would love to have anyone who is interested join us! We usually post meeting information on our Facebook page ahead of time, but feel free to email or message us on Facebook with any questions! Sincerely, Paul Phillips - President Happy Fall, Happy Thanksgiving! My apol- ogies for missing the first two issues. I, as we all are, have been super busy putting summer toys away and getting winter toys out! How many of you have already fired up the sleds? How many of you are daydreaming about your new snow checked machines? By the time you all get this the MSA show will be a thing of the past and who knows, we may even have received our first snowfall of the season! Pete has started the process of annual maintenance on the BR and an appointment has been made at Rev Limit to start bringing grooming sleds in for oil changes and preven- tative maintenance. Pete has placed a “mail- box” on the big club trailer parked on the River Trail. It has Trail Maintenance worksheets in it. If you find yourself up here trimming trails (Dick Dewitt), please fill out one of the sheets and put it back in the box so we can count your time and thank you as well! I have submitted the season estimate for this year’s grant and Jody has accepted it. Different this year; we moved up to a munic- ipal grant only instead of Club and Municipal separately. process and are hoping to complete our pur- chase of land for a future groomer barn! Big things in the works up here in our neck of the woods! We held our first meeting of the year and had a pretty good turnout. We have a dedi- cated Fundraising Committee this year and I’m thinking they are going to surprise us all with some really fun stuff to do this winter! Thank you, Pam and Russ Krauss and Doug and Trudy VanKnowe, and of course Traci! I know how much I totally enjoyed the fantastic Hot on the Trails event last year! Again, thank you so much to all who support us. We really, really appreciate it. If anyone out there wants to help out please reach out and let us know. We have many signs to put out pre-season so give Pete a call and he will put you to work for sure! His contact information is available on our web page. Membership packets have been sent out and I already have a huge stack for our Treasurer Lesley. This always makes her happy. We will be doing the Adopt-A-Trail again this year. If you are interested, please reach out to me and I will explain what it is and how to sign up! It has proven to be an excellent fundraiser for us! (THANK YOU DAVE SILVIA  ) Our online store is opened back up (Thank you Scott and Kathie) so start your Christmas shopping early! As I understand it, the sup- ply chain is tenuous at best right now. We are hoping Select Design in Lincoln has luck getting shirts and sweatshirts in. We do have some items left over from last season so go check it out! Please check out our web page as well. There is a tab for the online store as well as a Donation tab. Don’t be afraid to use that Donation Tab for sure! With the price of fuel right now we are going to need all the dona- tions we can get! So key points – Donate online! Christmas shop at our online store! Do the snow dance (but not until the beginning of December!) And above all else, remember, It’s not about the mileage, it’s about the Smileage! Laurie Plourde Ebeemee SC What an eventful and successful summer we have had as we finish up and head deep into fall. We are busy selling raffle tickets for our snowmobile raffle, if you would like to pur- chase tickets online you can visit the Sled Her- mon Facebook page or email: g5tunerguy@ gmail.com for info on how to purchase tickets and get in on a chance to win a 2022 Skidoo Renegade Sport 600EFI. We are happy to announce that we have chosen our dates for our two truck pulls for next season. The Kevin Call Jr. Memorial Truck and Tractor Pull will be on September 17th 2022. We will be having a test and tune event on June 4th which will also be open to the public. The final truck pull of our season will be on July 23 rd . We look forward to seeing some new faces at the events next season. We are also gearing up to collect our sponsors for those pull events soon. If you own a business and would like to sponsor one of our events, please email Andrew Jackson at g5tunerguy@ gmail.com. We are getting geared up and hitting the trail work for the season. We have an eager group of High School kids that need their commu- nity service hours that will be lending us a hand this fall. We have also started bush hog- ging some of our grassy section of trails. We definitely will be fighting wet and soft ground this preseason. Stay tuned for more news in the future! KRMUT trail, this should be in effect for spring riding if all the trail building/bridge work is completed. This gains access to over 3,000 miles of trails east and north of Katah- din area as well as potentially giving a boost to the local business economy as well. Thank you John! Thanks to those members involved in get- ting the new coal furnace purchased and installed and those who prepared and placed the new skirting around the building. A new sign will be installed on the building. Those who have chopped wood, done trail work or maintained equipment, Thank You Too, with- out the help of many clubs would not survive! We have a couple of events for early 2022 the Cancer fund raiser Sno Ball Run in January and the Winter fest Antique Parade in February. Dana has been very busy signing the trails, he has to cover a lot of distance, some of which he has to do on foot. He has everything pretty much done. The Club is getting back to normal and I am sure everyone reading this is looking for- ward to this pandemic Covid 19 being in the rear-view mirror. Looking ahead to November, we will host a potluck supper on Wednesday, November 3rd at the club starting at 6 PM. Please bring your favorite dish and join us. At this time, we are planning to host our Pancake/French Toast Public Breakfast on November 21st from 7:30 to 11 AM. Trails work is an ongoing thing, and anyone willing to help out would be most appreciated. October 24th, please meet at the Club at 7:30 AM. BURNT MEADOW sc Brownfield, ME Greetings Fellow Snowmobilers the season is almost upon us.

I just see many of you at the Fryeburg Fair, and would like to Thank all of you for support- ing our Dice in a Dish Fundraiser. After a year without, this year’s fundraiser was critical to keeping things in the black. We thank all for you for your generous support this year. We would especially like to thank the vol- unteers who made this year’s fundraiser a great success and whole lot of fun. Thank you Ernest Perreault Sr., who at 85 years young, dedicated himself from opening to long past his bedtime on many nights 7 of the 8 days of the event. Thank you Ernie! Thank you Scott Moulton, of Frost Moun- tain Yurts, for dedicating so much time to the booth that he got in trouble with the wife and had to bow out for the final day. Hopefully he was able to patch things up and is not living in one of his yurts. Thank you Scott! Thank you Phil Johnson, for giving us a couple days of your time. It was a busy fair this year and it would have been a lot busier without your help. Thank You Phil! Thank you Shawn Waite, semi-new mem- ber had no idea what he was signing up for but jumped right in headfirst. With a mere 2 nights under his belt, he stepped up on the busiest Friday night we have had at the fair in many years. Thank you Shawn! Thank you Ron & Diane Barrett, for patiently sitting through the nastiest traffic imaginable to come in and help on the busiest Saturday ever. Thank you Ronnie & Diane! Thank you Tracy, who was pulling double duty with the Brownfield Lions, for stepping in to the calling position after my voice gave out. Your big booming voice really brought in a lot of players. Thank you Tracy! Nice thing about an out of season fundraiser is now with it out of the way we can focus on the season ahead, hopefully we get lots of snow. It’s never too early to start doing your snow dance. Think snow, stay safe! (Continued on Page 16)
