CELEBRATING GENETICS THROUGH PAST GENERATIONS SANTA GERTRUDIS BREEDERS INTERNATIONAL 68 TH ANNUAL MEETING

T he 2019 meeting of the Santa Gertrudis Breeders International (SGBI) was a celebration of genetics through past generations. Held on the historic San Antonio River Walk in April, the shared enthusiasm for all things Santa Gertrudis and the celebration of the achievements of the past year were united with good weather, great fellowship, productive meetings and fun events. SGBI’s annual meeting is a productive three days where strategic direction is discussed and decided upon, new ideas for breed improvement or direction are developed in committees and passed along to the board for adoption or implementation, members are exposed to informative speakers, and affiliates give grassroot reports of Santa Gertrudis happenings in their areas. The annual meeting is where SGBI policy and direction begins, so involvement from members is vital. The following photos capture the 2019 SGBI Annual Meeting events.
