An all-rounder in the wire processing sector Wafios has supplemented the FMU line of wire bending and forming centres with the new FMU 0.7, designed to process spring steel wire according to DIN EN 10 270 in the bottom diameter range between 0.15mm and 0.8mm. Thus the complete FMU line covers a diameter range from 0.15mm to 6.5mm.

The FMU 0.7 can process round and profiled wire. Torsion springs, tension springs with loops (according to DIN 2097) and bent parts for the automotive industry can be produced on the FMU 0.7. In the electronic industry, the FMU 0.7 is used for the economical production of spiral-wound filaments made of tungsten wire, for the production of coils made of enamel-insulated copper wire and for bent parts made of copper or aluminium alloys for power distribution systems. The flexibility of FMU 0.7 encourages creativity, and a broad range of bent wire parts can very easily be produced, including eyeglass rims, bridges and ear pieces made of titanium-base alloys, body piercing jewellery of silver, gold and titanium alloys and bent parts for the medical industry. For programming the FMU 0.7, the established Wafios Programming System 3 (WPS 3) is installed. Production techniques and processes are the same for the entire machine line so operating personnel have only to learn them once to apply them to all five machine sizes. Identical production and operating processes thus provide high investment security and increase process safety.
