Lime Wood, a boutique country house hotel, is set in the heart of the New Forest National Park, 1.5 miles from the small town of Lyndhurst and just a 90-minute drive from London. Lime Wood’s classical structure has been lovingly renovated, keeping the spirit of its past, taking inspiration from its extraordinarily beautiful surroundings and adding the occasional contemporary twist to bring it to life. The project was five years in the making, and the results are a collaboration of creative talent at its best. Architecture design is by Charles Morris and Ben Pentreath, and interiors are by David Collins. Martin Brudnizki designed the new Hartnett Holder & Co restaurant, and food is by Luke Holder and Angela Hartnett. Great food, immaculate service and superb facilities make Lime Wood the only five-star luxury country house hotel in the New Forest National Park. Pavilion 1 enjoys a style that is both luxurious and relaxed. The use of local materials ensures that the interiors match their surroundings. The furniture is an eclectic mix of antique and bespoke pieces, and rooms are decorated with handpicked artworks and objets d’art. Pavilion 1 is a standalone lodge with a bunk bedroom downstairs and a large bedroom upstairs with an open fire, four-poster bed and a free-standing bath in the bay window, facing the forest. There is also an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Besides the views out to the forest, it overlooks the gardens and canals as well. This three-story spa has raised the bar for destination spas around the world.
