Path of the Vikings: Reykjavik to Quebec ABOARD THE LE CHAMPLAIN

DAYS 1-4 REYKJAVIK TO ÍSAFJÖRDUR Starting in Reykjavik, explore Iceland’s scenic wonders known as the Golden Circle— Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and the Geysir Center. Embark Le Champlain and head to Vigur, the summer home to vast numbers of puffins, black guillemots, Arctic terns, and eiders. Cruise to Ísafjördur, where a cultural tour reveals the history and daily life of one of Iceland’s oldest fishing settlements. DAYS 5-8 GREENLAND COAST Visit the small settlement of Tasiilaq, with an optional hike to Flower Valley, with its colorful summer flora. Watch for seals, whales, and polar bears and, conditions permitting, go ashore at Napassorssuaq Fjord to explore this remote shoreline. Breathtaking vistas of icebergs and steep, glacier-cut cliffs with frozen waterfalls clinging to their edges await as you cruise among a flotilla of ice in Prins Christian Sund. By Zodiac and aboard the ship, cruise the bays and finger-like offshoots of this truly spectacular place. DAYS 9-17 L’ANSE AUX MEADOWS TO QUEBEC CITY L’Anse aux Meadows, settled by Leif Ericson in AD 1000, remains the only authenticated Viking settlement in North America. In Gros Morne National Park, hike to the Tablelands, a landform that resembles the surface of Mars, and keep an eye out for the rich wildlife—caribou,

Cruise along chiseled fjords packed with glittering icebergs on this expedition that explores the Arctic regions of Iceland, Greenland, and Canada. In Iceland, you’ll visit the fascinating sites of the country’s scenic Golden Circle and search the skies for a variety of seabirds including colorful puffins and Arctic terns. Watch for seals, whales, and polar bears as you cruise the fjords of Greenland, and in Canada, visit the remains of an ancient Viking settlement, enjoy a hike through Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the Gaspé Peninsula, with its colonies of northern gannets. Conclude with a cruise through the Fjord du Saguenay, which offers some of Canada’s most breathtaking scenery.

The cruise ends with a voyage through Fjord du Saguenay, a narrow waterway lined by towering cliffs. Arrive in Quebec City and disembark on Day 17.
