Our Trust Your News November 2018

Welcome FromYour Chief Executive

Welcome to the packed November edition of Our Trust, Your News and all the latest news, events and photos from what has been another busy month.

Browsing this edition it struck me that I can’t remember seeing so many staff photos in a single edition before. There are full pages devoted to AHP Day (page 3), more loyal staff receiving their Long Service Awards (page 4) and a visit from the Chair of Health Education England, Sir Keith Pearson (page 10). As well as outstanding staff, the Trust also receives truly excellent support from grateful patients and their families. Several excellent examples are featured in this issue with the opening of the new Forget-Me-Not Suite at BGTH (page 9), a glittering fundraising event from one of our Speech and Language Therapists (page 12) and some very special camera equipment donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (page 20). Recognition of long service aren’t the only awards in the news with a trio of ELHT research projects shortlisted for the Greater Manchester Clinical Research Network Awards (page 13) and much deserved recognition for one of our highly regarded Learning and Development champions (page 6).

It’s the time of year that many Trust staff have been waiting for – the launch of our ever-popular STAR Awards 2019 (page 7) with full details of all the categories and nomination process. November also means we’re planning for a busy Christmas and you’ll find news about charity Christmas markets, raffles and more within these pages. Kevin Kevin McGee , Chief Executive
