Stroke Sing-a-long!

Gift of Remembrance

Our thanks go to lovely local couple Grace and Ashley Banham for their generous donation of cameras to our Bereavement Services team. Bereavement Lead Midwife Louise Bardon and colleagues were on hand to accept delivery of two new Sony RX100 cameras featuring a 20.1MP sensor and full 4K Video. Both cameras are now being used by maternity services staff and bereaved parents to capture precious moments with their beloved child before saying goodbye. Grace and Ashley’s daughter Violet was born in October 2017 and the couple have been busy raising awareness around Stillbirths, Sepsis and, especially, Group B Strep.

To celebrate World Stroke Day on 30 October, Marsden Ward at Pendle Community Hospital were honoured and delighted to host a visit by the renowned Pendle District Stroke Association Choir. Staff, patients and visitors joined in the joy to sing a medley of inspirational songs throughout the afternoon. Everyone joined in and had an excellent time together.
