Towers Fall G.F.E. McGuiness

Thrashing winds assail the earth. Towers fall. Moaning cries of failing steel Reveal that towers fall. Pelted victims, lost of worth, Rendered legless from their berths. What was conjured Sways and reels. So towers fall.

Thrashing time unseals the mind. Towers fall. Moaning cries of failure Steal. Revelation, towering, falls. Pelts of victims lost, Of rended legs, Of undone births, Of what was honored, Flayed and peeled. Towers fall. Rooted, Struck of heavy stone, Although cyclonic fears rage on, Lightning flashed of what has gone, What was spent, I persist, Her monument. As towers fail, Despite an ever rising squall and din To cresting waves of change, I cast Her epitaph, A history of what never was but, better, might have been.
