Probate Offices. In reply to a letter from the Council drawing attention to delay in the copying department of the King's Bench- Division (Probate), a letter was read from the Assistant Registrar, which stated one of the staff of writing clerks had joined His Majesty's Forces, and in consequence the work fell into arrear, but that temporary help has now been sanctioned by the Treasury, and everything is being done to clear off the arrears. Council Meetings. MEETINGS of the Council will be held upon the following dates :— May 3rd, 17th and 31st. - June 14th and 28th. Committee Meetings. MEETINGS of the following Committees were held during March, 1916 :— Costs, 3rd and 28th. Land Acts, 7th. Gazette, 10th. Court and Offices, 15th. SIR MALACHY J. KELLY, Chief Crown Solicitor in Ireland, died upon the 25th March, 1916, at his residence, Thorndale, Temple Road, Dublin. Sir Malachy served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Louis G. O'Neill, 1 Capel Street, Dublin, was admitted in Trinity Term, 1871, and practised at Castlebar up to the year 1905. He was Crown Solicitor for County Mayo from 1885 till 1905, when he was appointed to the office of Chief Crown Solicitor in Ireland, having his office at Dublin Castle. MR. SAMUEL BENNER, Solicitor, died upon the 14th January, 1916, at his residence, Merrick, Long Island, New York, U.S.A. Obituary.

Mr. Benner served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Samuel Hobson, 26 Lower Ormond Quay, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Term, 1866, and practised at Tralee up to the year 1901, when he retired. MR. JAMES M. JUDGE, Solicitor, died upon the 1st March, 1916, at Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Mr. Judge served his apprenticeship with Mr. John M. Maxwell, 40 North Great George's Street, Dublin, was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1904, and practised at 2 Foster Place, Dublin, up to the year 1911, when he went to Canada. MR. HENRY T. STEWART, Solicitor, died upon the 12th March, 1916, at 72 Harcourt Street, Dublin. Mr. Stewart served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Thomas Stott, Ballymoney, was admitted in Trinity Term, 1870, and practised formerly at 33 Lower Ormond Quay, and subsequently at 43 Lower Sackville Street, Dublin, in partnership with Mr. Mark S. Orr (under the style of Messrs. Stewart and Orr) up to the year 1909, when he retired. MR. HENRY MAGUIRE, Solicitor, died upon the 18th March, 1916, at his residence, 16 Trevelyan Terrace, Belfast. Mr. Maguire served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. William Casey, 15 Upper Ormond Quay, Dublin, was admitted in Michaelmas Term, 1875, and practised at Belfast. MR. WILLIAM F. ST. LEGER, Solicitor, died upon the 18th March, 1916, at The Laurels, Fermoy. Mr. St. Leger served his apprenticeship with the late Mr. Henry T. Dix, 61 Upper Sackville Street, Dublin, was admitted in Michaelmas Term, 1875, and practised at Fermoy.
