Basic Controls for Wire Transfers

Verification procedures for written requests and call‐ back procedures (or other authentication procedures)  for telephone and email requests.

Security procedures for payment orders (Photo ID,  passwords/passcodes, PINs, etc.).

Written agreements for customers that initiate  repetitive wires.   

Additional Wire Transfer System Controls

If applicable: token management procedures—keep  tokens in a secured location accessible by authorized  personnel only.

Have an uninterruptible power source for the  terminals and VPN device.

Patch Management and Operating system  hardening to limit the probability of exploitation  of unknown vulnerabilities.
