Stakeholder Panel Working Groups

• Engage in the detailed discussions and work of the stakeholders • Develop draft fitness for purpose and standard method performance  requirements (SMPRs)or other draft standard as proposed by  stakeholder panel • Recommend draft standards to the stakeholder panel • Can review and recommend methods for consideration • Formed based on efficiency for work • Managed by staff • Conducted in accordance with national and international standards  development criteria

Working Group Membership

• Working group membership is not vetted

• Membership is a microcosm of stakeholder panel – Experts from government, industry, research, states, military, public  health sector, public safety sector, method developers, method end  users, etc…

• Moderated by working group chair(s)

• Facilitated by AOAC staff 

• Working groups are often formed during the stakeholder  meetings and joint working group meetings
