ИНТЕРЬЕРЫ АНТИПЕНТХАУС В ЖИЛОМ КОМПЛЕКСЕ «БЛИЖНЯЯ ДАЧА» 132

A penthouse is an apartment on the upper floors of a building, residential property with an exit to/entrance from the roof. Therefore, an “anti-penthouse”, or, as they call this project in Boris Uborevich-Borovsky’s Stu- dio, an “inverse penthouse”, is, as its unusual name suggests, an apartment in the basement, rather than in the attic. This perturbation is caused by objective reasons. The owner of a two-level apartment in the first and the ground floors of the residential complex wanted to achieve the effect of a real penthouse in an un- conventional context for this type of residential property, using architecture as the tool for that. The project by UB. DESIGN Studio infused the apartment that in fact lacked the advantages of a classic penthouse with an un- usual content. The architect ventured to look for the source of freedom that penthouses are typically associat- ed with inside the living space rather than in the panoramic views outside, and the approach worked. To create the feeling of inner freedom in the originally closed interiors, the designers selected two complementary com- binations: firstly, open plan spaces alternate with clearly zoned areas, and secondly, light colours and transpar- ent glass contrast with dark elements of marble, granite and wood.
