About The Cover Ar tist - Diane Michaud Lowry In our ongoing quest to bring unique and beautiful art to the industry through our catalog cover, we are proud to display photography artwork created by the talented Diane Michaud Lowry. On an art scouting trip at the Iowa State Fair, our family literally stopped in our tracks when we spotted this image of Diane’s in the art competition. Spontaneously, we all immediately said,“There’s our cover!”After some investigative work, we found Diane and received her permission to feature her art.

Diane is an award winning photographer from Ames, Iowa. Her passion for photography started in childhood after her father gave her a 35 mm Ricoh Rangefinder. She made the transition from film to digital photography in 2005, but still has a special interest in black and white photography. Diane uses her photography “to evoke a sense of wonder and mystery of the unknown while seeking to find light in shadows.” Diane’s other passions are women’s healthcare, which explains her role as a Physician Assistant. She also enjoys sea kayaking and training PortugueseWater Dogs. Her cover art is a single exposure created with a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon EF 180 mm macro lens, and Canon EF 25 II extension tubes. The set up of the Blackeyed Susan macro image involved use of an external light source shot through a glass plate and rainwater. If you would like more information, Diane can be reached by email at dogs4bird1@mchsi.com.
