The Manager's Toolkit

Career aspirations should be revisited as part of the mid-year review and looking back meetings. Ask some key questions – have they followed their Learning Plan? What new skills have they developed? What additional experience do they need and what can they do about it?

The Looking Forward meeting is an ideal time to discuss Career Aspirations . Check with your employee if they wish to continue in current role , make a move within their area , or elsewhere in CBL or the Group . Ensure clarity as to why this move is their preferred one.

A career conversation should highlight any current learning gaps and should form a key part of your employee’s Learning Plan for the year ahead. Consider and discuss what skills, experience and/or qualifications they need to build to take on the next role. During the looking forward meeting you should also explore the desire to undertake development options such as mentoring, management development programmes or career placements. Ensure they understand the personal investment required when participating in any of these options.

When applying for new roles on iMove employees must register and attach their C.V. Encourage them to keep their C.V.up to date, ensuring it highlights what they can bring to a particular role. Be prepared to support them and provide feedback.

All job opportunities within CBL and the Group are advertised on iMove.
