ROME’S CATS HAVE SPECIAL RIGHTS!

One of the cutest facts about Rome that may surprise you is that it’s a city full of cats: you can find them anywhere and everywhere climbing, sleeping and just being cats. Also, there is a reason for that; there is a strict law that protects them and their freedom to enjoy the city, and there are organizations that take care and feed them. There’s an estimate of 180.000 free living cats in Rome!

THERE ARE OVER 900 CHURCHES IN MODERN ROME.

If you want to go to church in Rome, you are certainly going to have a plethora of different options to choose from. There are well over 900 different churches in modern Rome. Some of these churches are very old buildings that have been in the city for a long time and others are more modern structures. You will definitely be able to find churches that have beautiful architecture for you to marvel at.

THE ROMAN FORUM EXCAVATION TOOK OVER 100 YEARS.

The Roman Forum known but was not rediscovered until archeologist Carlo Fea in 1803 began excavations. The excavations to clear the Roman Forum took over 100 years and it wasnt until the 20th century that it became fully excavated. When the Roman Empire fell, the Roman Forum became abondoned and many of the monuments and buildings were plundered and used in other areas of the city including the walls of the Vatican and many of Rome’s churches.
