Beginning Administrators Mentoring Academy Seeks Participants Ohio’s entry-year building principals and assistant principals have a new opportunity to receive mentoring from experienced principals through a Beginning Administrators Mentoring Academy sponsored by OAESA and OSSA. The program is modeled after BASA’s Superintendent’s Transition Program which has provided both entry level training and mentoring for several years now. Limited to 130 beginning principals and assistant principals, the program will provide a trained mentor for two years, paid registrations for some trainings, a two-year membership in OASSA or OAESA, a paid 360 evaluation tool, and some professional publications The deadline is August 10, and the application and additional information are available through ODE at the above link. Electronic Teacher and Principal Evaluation Systems (eTPES) Setup Now Available On August 1, superintendents or their designees could begin their district setups in the electronic Teacher and Principal Evaluation Systems (eTPES). Superintendents and superintendent designees who are new to their districts need to ensure their role designations and email addresses are current in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS) by this Friday, August 3. These individuals will receive an email message with login information the week of August 6. Administrators who used the system last year and still are in the same district can log in to eTPES using their current logins and passwords. The Department asks superintendents or their designees to complete the setup by Wednesday, October 10. Business Advisory Council Plans Can Now Be Submitted ORC Section 3313.821 provides that all school districts and educational service centers must submit their business advisory council plans to the Ohio Department of Education. The deadline is September 30. Beginning with the Fiscal Year 2019 school year, the Department will receive plans annually through the FORMS web system in SAFE . To access FORMS and submit the annual plan, a user must have the Superintendent or Superintendent Designee role in the Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS). This role is assigned by the local OEDS administrator. The FORMS web system now is available for districts and educational service centers to upload their business advisory councils’ annual plans.
