18 Adam Burke enters hi s first year with USD after transferring from Palomar Juni or Co llege ... he is projected to see playing time in the Torero secondary as a cornerback ... the past two years at Palomar the team won the Mi ss ion Conference Champi onship ... from Fall brook, he attended Fall brook Union HS where he was a top receiver ... during hi s senior year he caught 60 baJl s for 820 yards on hi s way to earning First Team All -Avocado League and AII-CIF honors and the CIF Champi onship ... also lettered in baseball where he was 2nd Team AII -CIF and First Team All – Avocado League ... chose USD for locati on, famil y & fri ends, and football ... also recruited by Montana, Reno, Wyoming, Ari zona State and Washington ... grew up with three other Torero teammates. Jason Ching enters his first year with USD after transferring from Brown Uni versity ... he will sit out the 2004 season due to the NCAA transfer rule . . . a two-year starter at Brown, last year he was the team' s fifth leading taclder with 48 stops ... his best game came against

Cornell where he totaled 10 tackles to go with 6 broken-up passes ... he totaled 7 tackles and a forced fumble against Princeton ... during his rookie campaign he totaled 37 stops ... in his first game he tallied 5 tackles, a fumbl e recovery and an interception against Penn .. . 4 of his 37 tackles, along with 2 interceptions, came against Dartmouth .. . he was twice named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week and finished with 3 picks .. . from Honolulu, Hawaii, he graduated from Punahou H.S., where he lettered in football, basketball, and track... First team ILH defensive back and Honorable Mention Al l-State ... holds school record with a 6-6 high jump as 2002 State Chan1pion . . . 2002 State Champion for triple jump.. .First team ILH in the high jump and triple jump. Chase McBride enters his first season at USD after transferring from USC . .. during the 2002 season was a first-year freshman walk-on safety on the USC squad that fini shed 11 -

2 and won the Orange Bowl . . . did not pl ay fo r the Trojans thi s pa t season ... from nearby Solana Beach, he prepped at Santa Fe Christian where he pl ayed for Brian Sipe .. . senior year rushed fo r over 1,000 yards with team going 12- 0 and winning CIF and State Championship . .. named All-State, AII -CIF and All-Coastal League ... also lettered in basketball and golf, earning All-League and AII -CIF honors in basketball ... chose to transfer to USD for academics and chance to play with football again .. . out of high school was recruited by USC, Cal, Colorado State and Ivy League programs. shirt sophomore, who went through spring drill s with the Toreros, will compete for pl aying time at quarterback ... at Northwestern was on team that went to Motor City Bowl . . . from Los Angeles, California, Walter prepped at Palisades Charter High School where he lettered in both footbaJI and baseball ... hi s father, Charles, pl ayed basketball and ran track at Principi a; hi s grandfather, Walter, played quarterback at Cal ... chose USD for its quality educati on and wonderful city.
