Athletic Staff ~~~~~=- Wendy McReynolds, Assistant AD for Marketing & Promotions Wendy McReynolds begins her second year at USO as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Mar– keting and Promotions. Wendy came to USO from Virgina Tech where she held the title of Director of Sports Marketing and L;;;;:;:~;!;;;;;;;;;;;;;!,I Promotions since 200 l . Prior to that she was the assistant for one year beginning in 2000. Pri or to her appointment at VirginiaTech she also gained experience at the Uni versity of Maryland where she was Assistant Director of Sport Marketing for two years, at Wichita State for two years as the Assistant for Sports Marketing & Promotions and at the University of Florida Athletic Association as a Marketing Assistant. She earned her B.S. degree in Sport Management from Guilford College in 1994 and herM.S. degree in Sport Management fromWest Virginia in 1996. Andy Fee is in his third year at USO, and his second in the position of Assistant Director of Athlet– ics for Facilities and Operations. Fee assists John Marti n in overseeing all the scheduling, field maintenance and purchasing for the ..__ ______. department's athletic venues. He also is the sport superviser for men's & women's cross country, along with men's golf. Fee came to USO from Arizona State Uni versity where he was Assistant Director of Facility Operations for Athletics the past two seasons. Before that he was Facility Supervisor for the ASU Student Recreation Complex. Besides his work at ASU, he developed Athletics and Management ski lls with the NFL Cardinals, Fiesta Bowl and PGA Phoenix Open. From Scottsdale, Arizona, he earned his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History in 1996 from Arizona State Uni versity. Andy and his wife, Nicole, reside in San Diego. ~~~~~~ Dean Aresco Strength & Conditioning Coach Dean Aresco is in hi s third season as USD's Strength and ConditioningCoach. He came to USD viaTowson State University where he was their head coach for three seasons. Additional profess ional experiences include stints at the University of Connecticut as a Graduate Assistant,and attheU.S.OlympicTrainingCenterinSanDiegoas the lnterim Strength andConditioningCoordinator. He eamedhisB.S. in ExercisePhysiology in 1995fromtheUniver– sity of Connecticut,and recentlycompleted hisM.A. degree there in the same field. A NSCA Certifi ed Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he also is certified throughUSAweightlifting. Additionally,he holds membershipswith NSCA,theU.S.WeightliftingFederation,and theAmerican CoUegeofSpo1ts Medicine. Hans Straub enter his first full season in the positionofAssistant Strength &Conditioning Coach andDirectorof the McNamaraFitness Center. He came to USDin 2002 but tookovertheseduties full-time this pastFebruary. He came toUSD viaTowson StateUniversity where he was a tight endonthefootballteam fortwoyearsand eamed aB.S.degree in 2002 inSports Management. PriortoTowson he played two years offootball atMillersville in Pennsylvania. FromCampHill,Pennsylvaniahegraduatedfrom highschoolin 1998 afterearning letters in three sports-football, basketbal I and basebal1. This Fall he'll begin aMaster's Programin Excercise Science through theUni versity of Texas-ElPaso. Andy Fee, Asst. She received herMasterofArts in Arts&Administration (emphasis inManagement andMarketing) from the Uni versity ofOregon in 1998. She receivedherB.F.A.inGraphicDesign,with aminorinMarketing, fromMiami University inOxford,Ohio in 1994. Erin and herhusband,Brian,residein Chula Vista with their dog, Gunther. Josh Lawrence, Director of Jenny Craig Pavilion Josh Lawrence begins hi s second year as the L:;;;;;.......... .;J competitionto the presentationofconcerts and special events, as well as maintenance throughout the Sports Facilities at UCSD. HereatUSD,Josh' s responsibilitieswill include scheduling, staffing andaIJmanagement aspectsoftheJennyCraigPavilion.Inthiscapacityhe wiJJ manage the daily operationsofthe facility, including event management and marketingofthe Pavilion. Joshreceived hisB.S.fromUCSanDiego in 1993withadoublemajor in Political Science and U.S.History. Joshand his wife, Lisa,weremarried this past summer. Derek Hillestad JCP Asst. Director/Events Manager DerekHillestad begins his third year as Assis– tant Directorof the JennyCraig Pavilion and Events Manager. He came to USD from Ball State University where he wasaGraduateAssistantforSportsFacilities L;;....~:;;.... ;;.1 andRecreationPrograms in 200 l-02. During thistime he was alsoaSecurityControlSupervisorfortheRCA Dome inlndianapolis, Indiana. Healsoeamedjobrelated experienceasanEvent Operations Supervisorfor Alliant Energy Center in Madi son,Wisconsin; as aProgramAssistantfortheDepartrnentofRecreational SportsatTexas A&M; and asEventCo-Coordinatorforthe DepaitmentofRecreationManagement at theUni versityofWi sconsin-LaCrosse. HegraduatedfromWisconsin-LaCrossewith aB.S. inRecreation Management (2000), and received his M.S . in Athletic Admini strationfrom Ball State University inJulyof2002. Nick Mirkovich Assistant Media Relations Director NickMirkovich begins his fourth season as DirectoroftheJennyCraigPavilion. HecametoUSD after7 years atUC SanDiego, where his responsibili– ties included managing the RIMAC Arena. Josh's duties included coordinating all events,fromathletic

Hi s duties include coordinating radio and TV productions, pro– ducing media guides, press releases, brochures and gaine programs. Nick played a key role in the design of USD'sathJeticwebsite. He handles play-by-play

webcastannouncing fora majority of baseball 's road schedule. In Mayof2000 he received a B.A. in BusinessManagementfrom Pacific Uni versity in Forest Grove, Oregon.His professional experience includes working with threedifferent professional football organizationsand three collegiate media relations departments. Nick was hired by the NFL' s leagueoffice in NewYork to serveas the primaryMediaRelationscontactfor theAmsterdamAdmiralsofNFLEurope in 2001 afterinteming withtheNew England Patriots in 2000.
