Olympus NDT Offers Integrated Solutions for Tube & Pipe Inspections

Phased Array Ultrasound Full-Body Inspection for Rotating Pipes

Full-body coverage including end-of- tube algorithm Weld inspection Defects √ Longitudinal √ Transverse √ Oblique (±11º, ±22º, ±45º, ±67º, ±78º) Lamination Detection algorithms: √ remaining walls √ round-bottom grooves

Phased array ultrasound provides flexibility and complete control of all parameters with regard to inspection and product require- ments including: • programmable optimization of the beam relative to the targeted defects, • adaptability of the beam coverage and inspection overlap to specific requirements, • programmable optimization of the focal length and spot size for wall thickness and geometry measure- ments, and • programmable beam steering to maximize detection of both surface breaking and non-surface breaking defects.

OmniScan ® i X Prove-Up and High-Speed Ultrasonic Inspection of Internal Defects and Weld Integrity Full body inspection achieves 2 dB repeatability at up to 2 m/s. Weld inspec- tion is performed with a concentric waterpath and a beam optimized in the depth direction allowing discrimination between ID and OD defects and detection of all defects including penetrators.

OmniScan ® i X • 2, 4, or 8 channels • High-resolution touchscreen display • Strip charts • 16 real-time alarms • 16 real-time analog outputs • Multiple scan mode including helix

The new R/D Tech OmniScan i X industrial flaw detector is designed for high- speed pipe and tube inspec- tion. This compact instrument is housed in a rugged bench- top casing and is also available in a rack-mount version for easy integration into inline production testing systems.

API 5UE Software Option The EPOCH LT handheld ultrasonic flaw detector allows defect sizing according to API Recommended Practice 5UE.
