NOTE The cells in an inserted row adopt the formatting of the cells in the row directly above the inserted rows, unless you choose a different formatting option from the Insert Options menu. You can also insert rows by selecting the right-hand part of the Insert button in the Cells group on the Home tab, and then selecting the Insert Sheet Rows option. Excel will insert the same number of rows as are selected.
P ROCEDURES 1. Right-click the row heading above which you want to insert a row. 2. Select the Insert option on the shortcut menu.
3. Click the Insert Options button . 4. Select the desired formatting option.

1. Right-click the row heading above which you want to insert a row. A shortcut menu displays. 2. Select the Insert option on the shortcut menu. A row is inserted above the selected row, and the Insert Options button displays. 3. Click the Insert Options button. A menu of available formatting options displays. 4. Select the desired formatting option. The Insert Options list closes and the selected formatting is applied to the inserted row.
