Save a new workbook.

1. Select the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar . The Save As screen appears.

The Save As dialog box appears.

3. In the Navigation Pane, select the drive where you want to save the workbook. A list of available folders appears. 4. Open the folder where you want to save the workbook. The contents of the folder appear. 5. In the File Name field, type the desired file name. The text replaces the existing text in the File name box. The Save As dialog box closes, the workbook is saved to the selected drive and folder and the file name appears in the application title bar. 6. Select the Save button.

Practice the Concept: In cell A4, type Location and press [Enter] . In cell A5, type New York and press [Enter] . In cell A6, type Boston and press [Enter] . Use the Save button to save the file again. Notice that the Save As dialog box does not open; the changes are saved to the existing my_ Sales workbook in the student data folder. Type Miami and Los Angeles for the remaining two rows, and Save again.
