Practice Data

1. Select the cell at one corner of the desired range. The selected cell becomes the Active Cell . 2. Hold [Shift] and press the desired arrow key as necessary to extend the selection. The range is selected.

Click cell A4

Hold [Shift] and press [ ] 4 times

Hold [Shift] and press [ ] 2 times. Notice that the range extends to column C . Hold [Shift] and press [ ] . Notice that the range extends to row 9 .

3. Use any additional valid key

combinations to extend the range, as desired. The range is extended accordingly.

4. Release the [Shift] key. The range is selected.

Release the [Shift] key

Practice the Concept:

Hold [Shift] and press [ ] . and release the [Shift] key. Notice that the previously selected range extends to row 10 .

Press [Shift+Page Down] . Notice that the range is extended down one screen page.

Press [Shift+Alt+Page Down] .

Press [Shift+Page Up] . Notice a ScreenTip at the bottom-right of the selected range briefly showing the number of rows and columns selected.

Press [Shift+Alt+Page Up] . Notice as you use the click and keyboard combinations a ScreenTip at the bottom-right of the selected range when clicked shows Quick Analysis covered in another class.

Select cell C8 .
