Deck the Halls (and the church!) – Saturday, November 30 th Get into the Christmas Spirit by helping ready our sanctuary for Christmas. We’ll decorate on Saturday, November 30th at 4 PM with a potluck dinner following (around 5). There are jobs for people of all ages and abilities, so please join us! Discernment Sessions – Sunday, December 1 st and Sunday, December 29 th Save the dates for these next two sessions for helping us discern our congregation’s relationship to the wider United Methodist denomination. New Sunday School Program – Sunday, December 1 st Kids in grades 6+ are invited to join us for a new Sunday School class just for them! Join Melissa in the sanctuary at 9 AM on Sunday mornings for re:form – an experience in Christian practices and conversations in a fun, collaborative way. Cheryl Hillicoss will continue with Deep Blue Kids for all ages up through 11 that meets in the Parish House on Sunday mornings at 9:45. Kids in grade 5 are encouraged to connect with whichever experience fits them the best (or attend both!) For questions, please contact Melissa.

Gingerbread House Making – Sunday, December 8 th Unleash your inner architect with a family-friendly creative event on Sunday, December 8 th ! From 3 – 5 PM in the Parish House, construct your very-own gingerbread house and cap off the evening with a potluck meal at 5 PM. Prizes awared in various categories for your gingerbread creation. All are welcome! Christmas Pageant – Calling all Kids! This year’s pageant will be on Sunday, December 22nd and we need the help of our island children to tell the tale of the very first Christmas. We have parts for kids of all ages (even the littlest!). There will be a brief rehearsal on Saturday, December 21st in the morning (precice time TBD). Christmas Worship Services: Save these dates on your calendar to celebrate Christmas with your friends and neighbors at CUMC: -- Saturday, December 21 st , 5 PM join us for the Longest Night service, a meditative service acknowledging the tension many of us feel during this time of year between joy and lament. Find peace in the quiet and comfort of others. -- Sunday, December 22 nd , 10 AM Our island children tell the story of the first Christmas! -- Tuesday, December 24 th , 7 PM Our traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.We remember the story of Jesus’ birth, sing carols, and share the light of Christ with one another. Advent Calendar for Climate Change Count down to Christmas with your friends and neighbors at CUMC with an Advent Calendar we created to raise awareness around climate change and to increase our gratitude for God’s creation. You can get your copy at CUMC or online at our website. Some days involve posting images or responses on Facebook or via email, so we await your involvement!
