100 The SIAFU Network Guidebook

7. Offer a challenge to all of the attendees to serve or demonstrate their love for Christ in a tangible way (2 min.). End each meeting with a specific challenge to each of the disciples to demonstrate tangibly their allegiance to Christ in a practical, specific way this week. For instance, they could go and speak to their spouses, children, and relatives a word of encouragement and thanksgiving, they could offer to do extra work for a coworker on the job, volunteer to do a chore in their home outside the norm. Whatever they decide, we should remind them that the SIAFU Network is a network committed to servant leadership, to practical, good works that are demonstrated in the midst of our lives – our homes, marriages, families, jobs, churches, and neighborhoods. Never have a Chapter meeting without committing to go away and doing something that week! 8. Provide a short briefing with announcements on Chapter business (7 min). For example, you can give info on an upcoming work project and details, and remind people of the opportunity to give to support Chapter expenses (i.e., monies that go toward upcoming work projects, meeting expenses like coffee). Give information about your next SIAFU meeting, and warmly invite folk to hang around as long as they would like after the meeting for fellowship and refreshments. 9. Offer a benediction to the Lord at the conclusion of your gathering (3 min). Have someone ask God’s blessing on those present as they depart and scatter to their various homes and life situations. Invite those who do not know the Lord to come to him, and affirm the truth with all who are present. Follow the Spirit’s leading, and always challenge them to live as disciples of Christ until you gather again. After the prayer, officially end the SIAFU Chapter meeting. 10. Wrap up the meeting with clean up and closing the meeting (post-meeting). After you have hosted your Chapter meeting, get volunteers to help clean up and arrange the room as you found it. Record any monies members gave for the support of the group, and make sure that someone will write up notes regarding any Chapter business decided during the meeting.
