Impact, nor any other Christian organization or program can possibly pierce through the darkness that enshrouds our cities, here in America and around the world. Only the living Christ can transform the cities; only a visitation from the Lord will make the difference. We completely agree with the view that SIAFU cannot be seen as a “magic bullet” of ministry for urban America. What it can do, however, is connect urban churches, urban leaders, and urban disciples under a common purpose and vision to see Christ glorified in their neighbor- hoods. Knowing that you are one of perhaps hundreds of Chapters of other urban disciples who are seeking God’s power to transform their cities can inspire, challenge, and bless you to keep fighting. In addition, connecting with urban Christians from around the country can provide you with the stimulation and vision to start new initiatives and projects designed to make a difference in your church and neighbor- hood. And, collaborating with other Chapters in your locale can spark new partnerships and sponsorships for sharing the Good News in practical, amazing ways. SIAFU, then, is not a panacea, or a magic bullet. However, it can be a legitimate, traction-building tool that urban churches can use to further their goals of spiritual formation and mission in the city. These Chapters, under the authority of local leadership and vision, can become an effective means by which we can befriend, encourage, and challenge urban churches and disciples to honor God, right where we live, here and now.
