Banksia Grove Gazzette - May2018
From the Manager s Desk
Hi Everyone …. Welcome to the May Issue of the Banksia Grove Gazette ...
Firstly, a big HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the Mums out there. We’ve got another exciting month ahead. We have a special guest performer, Narelle Glover (also known as Miss Nelly) coming to do a free performance on the Mothers Day Weekend Saturday 12th May 2018 at the Community Hall from approximately 2:00 to 4:00pm. Miss Nelly plays guitar with a singer/keyboardist. Bring some drinks and nibblies, listen to some great music and make it a little celebration of Mothers Day. Banksia Grove is once again hosting The ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’. It will be on Tuesday 29th May 2018 at the Community Hall from 10:30am. There is a list in the Community Hall for suggestions for all of our MasterChefs out there. If there is something on the list you would like to make and contribute please put your name down. All donations and contributions very welcome!!! We look forward to another fantastic morning tea to raise money for the Cancer Council. As they did last year, the wonderful nurses at Central Health Alliance will be coming to Banksia Grove to administer the ‘Flu Shot’ for our residents. As soon as a date is confirmed I will put up some notices and distribute the appropriate forms. Banksia Grove ‘Anzac Day Service’ was held on Tuesday 24th April 2018 at the Community Hall. We had Special Guest Speakers & Complimentary Sausage Sizzle afterwards. It was great to see such a great crowd turn up to join us to remember our fallen soldiers and those who served for us all. Don’t forget bingo is on every Tuesday at 1:00pm at the Community Hall. Everyone has a ball … It’s a great afternoon … lots of fun, laughs and prizes … everyone welcome … the more the merrier … so come join in … Our Meat Raffles are also held at the Community Hall every 2nd Thursday at 6:30pm. The next one will be on Thursday 3rd May 2018. If any one has any events, celebrations or items for sale and would like to promote it in the newsletter please contact me in the office. On a final note, we had some sad news early April with the passing of David (Dave) McLeod – Our National Sales Manager - Hampshire Property Group. Our love and heartfelt thoughts go out to all of Dave’s beautiful family and friends at this time. Rest in Peace Dave … You will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing you.
Till next month … Take Care & Stay Safe Everyone … Maria & The Banksia Team
