Geboren in Ibach SZ, seit seiner Ausbildung an der Kunst- gewerbeschule Zürich arbeitet er als Werklehrer und auch als Kunstschaffender. Holz, Ton, Stein sind vorherr- schende Materialien, mit denen er dreidimensional ge- staltet. Zu anfänglich spontanen Aktionen im offenen Raum und in der Natur sind später Skulpturen und Feuer- perfomance dazugekommen. Seit 1990 wohnhaft in Sur- see LU.

Born in Ibach in the Canton of Schwyz, Richard Zürcher trained at the Zurich School of Applied Arts. Since then, he has worked as a craft teacher and artist. Wood, clay and stone are the predominant materials he uses to crea- te his three-dimensional artworks. He started out with spontaneous art actions in open spaces and nature, la- ter adding sculpture and fire performances to his reper- toire. He has lived in Sursee in the Canton of Lucerne since 1990.
