Disappearing

MAX : martha disappeared in november the previous night it had been raining for hours and when the rain came into contact with the cold ground a thin layer of ice formed on the pavement gleaming like the blade of a knife I spent the whole night by the window until people started to come out on the streets they were on their way to queue up for milk skating gliding dancing

in the light of street lamps among the trees of glass the blue trolleybuses looked as if someone had wrapped them in shiny foil overnight the houses had grown icicles resembling to long sharp transparent teeth and fear had wrapped around our necks like a scarf the decision to leave all by herself without telling anyone had been taken by martha one night a few months earlier
