As a safari specialist Ben possesses the ability to craft an experience that matches your expectations, with the occasional moment to stretch the envelope, adding a little grit and character to what undoubtedly will rank as a journey to remember…”

Rolling in the deep in Mozambique From the light aircraft we could see the dark shapes of the whale sharks swimming in the channels of the Indian Ocean below, their silver sun spots shining up to us. The world’s largest fish, these goliaths of the sea grow up to 10 metres long and are utterly disinterested in eating humans as they filter feed on plankton. Jumping off a dhow into the water next to one still felt like an act of lunacy though. From the deep, an open mouth some six feet wide was rising through the water directly beneath me. I had to sharply remind myself they were human-friendly. She completed her feeding dive and rolled past my side. From a safe distance you can swim alongside, snorkel and dive with these tropical giants – this must count as one of the finest wildlife encounters on planet Earth.
