Newsletter No. 3 - 2013/14 - Top Division Clubs in Europe

LEADING THE WAY FOR FOOTBALL CLUBS IN EUROPE | No. 3 - 2013/14

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// NEWSLETTER /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// FOR TOP DIVISION CLUBS IN EUROPE /////

FOREWORD /////////////////////////////////////////// The European club football season 2013/14 is culminating this weekend in the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid CF and Club Atlético de Madrid in Lisbon. The well-deserved summer break is about to start, but for many players there is no rest in sight yet: the FIFA World Cup in Brazil kicks off very soon. Many players have actually already started their world cup preparation with their national teams, even though the official release period officially only starts on the 26th of May. Further to requests from some of our member clubs, we have asked FIFA to clarify the situation concerning the mandatory release period, in particular with regards to the scope of the FIFA Club Protection Programme (insurance). In this newsletter, we have summarised for you some important information, which we would like you to be aware of. Further, we would also like to draw your attention to a recent FIFA TMS communication to clubs, which requests the clubs to sign a “data release declaration” allowing FIFA TMS to identify your club name in connection with transfers processed through TMS. We invite you to carefully take note of ECA’s recommendation in this regard. We hope you find this 3rd Edition of our newsletter both useful and informative. Please do not hesitate to make contact with the ECA Administration at admin@ecaeurope.com should you have any questions about ECA and its functioning. I wish you an enjoyable summer break!
