P ersona 5 has cemented itself as the JRPG for people who don't even like JRPGs. If there's only one turn-based, role-playing game you play this year, make it Persona 5. The Persona series is known for being user- friendly for newcomers, so don't be afraid if you're coming in on the fifth instalment. You take on the role of a young boy in trouble with the law, who's starting at a new

school. As with the previous games, you discover you have the ability to explore an alternate reality. While that's all well and good, the true appeal of Persona 5 lies in the mundane activities of your daily – normal – life; going to school, working, and making friends. Offsetting Persona's quirky story with the normality of everyday Japanese living creates an appealing contrast that has to be played to be truly appreciated. As far as the alternate reality battles are concerned, the game's combat provides a solid middle ground between those familiar with Persona and newcomers, who will find it easy to grasp. From the excellent gameplay and story to the beautiful art style and mesmerising soundtrack, there's plenty to love in Persona 5 .
