ICE ARENA OPEN SKATE Whether a beginner or a pro, Open Skate is available for everyone to enjoy! Please check the Ice Arena Calendar online at ShakopeeMN.gov/icearena for open skating times as they vary by the month. Skating aids are available for use by beginner skaters. Open Skate fee is $6 for residents, $9 for non-residents, free with a Community Center membership or is included with the purchase of a Community Center daily pass. Skates are available for rent during open skate sessions. $6 Res, $9 Non-Resident DEVELOPMENTAL HOCKEY Developmental Hockey offers skaters an opportunity to work on their skating skills either individually or through private lessons with an instructor. Skaters may use this time as open hockey as well. Please check the Ice Arena calendar for Developmental Hockey times as they vary by the month. Required equipment includes skates and a helmet. We recommend wearing protective elbow pads, shin guards, hockey gloves, and a mouthpiece. Developmental Hockey fee is $11 for residents, $16 for non-residents. FREESTYLE SKATING Figure skaters are invited to work on their skating skills either individually or through private lessons with an instructor. Freestyle Skating fee is $15 for morning sessions, $20 for afternoon or weekend sessions.
