Ortelius & Plancius These comfortable ice-strengthened vessels are excellent for expedition cruising in Antarctica. Built in 1989, the 116-guest Ortelius has the highest ice-class notation (UL1 equivalent to 1A), and the 123-guest Plancius , built in 1976, was completely rebuilt in 2009. Both vessels have simple but comfortable cabins, ranging from quadruples and triple cabins with bunk beds to superior cabins with double beds. All are outside- facing with a minimum of two portholes or windows per cabin, and have private shower and toilet, hairdryers, flat-screen TV, and ample storage space. Public areas include lots of open deck space, a restaurant that seats everyone in a single seating, and a bar/lecture room. They carry a fleet of Zodiacs for shore excursions. Paul Gauguin One of the world’s premier cruise vessels, the Paul Gauguin , is a 5-star ship designed specifically for cruising the South Pacific. This spacious ship offers an extension of the informal environment of the islands, carrying only 332 guests and offering all ocean- view staterooms (nearly 70% with private balconies), a choice of three dining venues, large outdoor decks, pool, an extensive spa, and a 1:1.5 guest-to-staff ratio that provides the highest level of personal attention. The ship’s watersports platform offers easy access to the blue Pacific so you can hop aboard a windsurfer, launch a kayak, or set out for a snorkeling expedition. The Gauguin has been consistently named one of the “World’s Top- Rated Small Ships” by Condé Nast Traveler readers each year. Marquesas,Tuamotus & Society Islands, p. 27 Cook Islands & Society Islands, p. 27 Fiji to Bali, p.31

Ocean Nova While not as luxurious as many of our other Antarctic ships, the Ocean Nova offers a great deal of comfort. She was built in Denmark in 1992 to sail the ice-choked waters of Greenland, and her ice-strengthened hull is ideally suited for travel in polar regions. The ship offers basic but comfortable outside- facing cabins, all with private facilities. Single and twin cabins have one or two lower berths, while triple cabins have two lower berths and one upper. In addition to a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room, the Ocean Nova has a spacious dining room, bar, and library. Guests are welcome on the bridge around the clock and there is always something to see or search for from the spacious observation decks. There are seven Zodiacs on board, ideal for disembarking for shore excursions and wildlife watching. Antarctica Air Cruise, p. 8
