Feng’s ISEF projects were in biochemistry, studying various aspects of gene expression. He attended Harvard and Stanford and went on to become a faculty member

at MIT, focusing his work in biomedical research. He played an integral role in the invention of the CRISPR-Cas genome engineering system and went on to found several noted groundbreaking companies that apply CRISPR technologies, including Editas, Arbor Biotechnologies, and Sherlock Biosciences.
